We love our directors! North Pacific Region 13 and Sweet Adelines International realize the constant challenges directors face. We encourage you to take advantage of the many resources that are available to you at both levels.

  • The staff at international headquarters is available to assist you (800.992.7464), as well as offering programs such as the Director/Mentor program, the Novice Director program, and the Director Certification Program. SAI and Region 13 offer periodical educational workshops designed specifically for directors and their music staff; we encourage you to participate!

  • Regionally, we maintain this page with information helpful to chorus front-line directors, assistant directors and "wannabe" directors! Included below are coaching dates you are welcome to observe, information about the DCP Program, and links to numerous sites at Sweet Adelines that will make sure your experience in front of your chapter is a wonderful one. Coaching and Educational Opportunities

Here are some dates for educational opportunities--such as SET and IES--you may wish to participate in, as well as observable chapter coaching sessions.

The coaching sessions have been opened to you by the chorus directors involved. You are encouraged to get in touch with the contact listed to get last-minute scheduling information and to see if the observation is limited to directors or is open to your music staff and/or general membership. (And if you have any dates you'd like to add, please send them to the webmaster!)

Directors Certification Program

The Directors Certification Program (DCP) is Sweet Adelines International's educational home-study program using modules designed to develop skills for directors, potential directors, and musical leaders. Much of the information contained within the DCP Resource Modules is useful for ALL chorus members. For more information about DCP in Region 13, contact Nikki Blackmer (425.821.5758).

Directors' Tool Kit

SAI's Education Department has assembled a list of resources appropriate to a "Directors Tool Kit". Below is a list of resources available through International sales and recommended as a basic tool kit for all front-line directors and their music staffs.
