Here are Sweet Adeline (SAI) and Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS) show and contest dates to aid in planning your chorus calendar, as well as other important deadlines for the newsletter and event registration. For the 22nd consecutive year, Alaska Sound Celebration Chorus presents their annual melodrama,"Fur Rondy Melodrama" from February 24 through March 10, 2012. A family friendly show, there are lots of villians, heroes, heroines, and of course the Chorus. There will be lots of popcorn to throw, and booing and hissing the villian is expected. Performances are held Thursdays March 1 and March 8 at 8pm. Fridays February 24, March 2, March 9 at 8pm, Saturdays February 25, March 3, and March 10 at 3pm and 8pm, and Sundays February 26, and March 4 at 1pm and 5pm at the Snow Goose Restaurant and Brewery, 717 W. 3rd Ave, Anchorage AK. Ticket prices are $17.50 for youth under 12, seniors over 65 and military general admission; and $19.50 adult general admission. Reserved seating $25 for all. This year's 66th Annual Original All-Northwest Barbershop Quartet Contest in Forest Grove, Oregon on Friday, March 30, 2012 and Saturday, March 31, 2012 is open to female quartets (in addition to men's quartets) for the first time in many years. Male and female quartets will be judged together. There will be prize money for the top 8 quartets, ranging from $300 to $800. InTune is published three times a year, in January, May and September (or pretty darn close!). You are welcome to submit articles for inclusion in the InTune. Articles about your chorus or quartet should be approximately 200 words in length. Educational articles or information about upcoming events and workshops can be longer. Photographs are welcome, although we can’t promise to use every one (it's a space issue!).
For the past four years, Darwin Scheel has hosted very successful Tag Parties in the Portland-Vancouver area...and now the party is heading north! Seven awesome Tag Masters will be in attendance and they have a perfect venue, so this plans to be one of the best Tag parties ever!

a capella Joy joins Northwest Sound to present "a capella Overdrive" on June 30, 2012 at 2:30pm and 7pm at Sammamish High School. Guest performers will include Frenzy Quartet, and Kentucky Vocal Union Quartet. The Kentucky Vocal Union has placed 6th in the Men's Barbershop International Competition. Do you wish that you had an opportunity to sing fun, challenging songs with a good quartet? You might be interested in Power Quartetting. Our Power Quartetting weekend in 2012 will be September 14-15. Participants will learn (from memory) six challenging arrangements, and spend the weekend singing them in different quartet combinations with singers from all over the Northwest. Jet Cities Chorus celebrates it's 50th Anniversary with matinee and evening shows on Saturday, September 22, 2012 Special guest performers are De Capo Quartet, 2011 Harmony Sweepstakes National Champions. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
