Each quartet that becomes a regional champion is inducted into Ovation!, our chorus of champions, the following year. Ovation! also provides entertainment after each quartet contest prior to the judges announcement.

Ovation! is energized and enthused! With a new management team and the input of its members, Ovation! has goals and direction set in motion. As part of this enthusiasm, new plans are in the works for some exciting educational and singing opportunities for all Region 13 members.
 

Our Leaders

Ovation! is directed by Zoe Thompson. Zoe worked her way to the top of the Sweet Adelines world in both the musical and administrative levels, having been President of Sweet Adelines International, as well as the bass of an International Championship Quartet, The Sea Adelines.

Zoe's credits do not stop there. She is one of only three members of SAI who is a Certified Judge in three of the four categories: Sound, Expression and Showmanship. She also served many years as a Judge Specialist and Chair of the Judging Committee, as well as being a member of the International Music Faculty, where she earned the status of Specialist.

The distinction of being named a Master Director, which is the highest level of achievement within Sweet Adelines International, also belongs to Zoe. She directed the award-winning Lakeside chorus for 25 years.

In recent years, Zoe has taken choruses to Australia, New Zealand, the British Isles and New York City’s Lincoln Center, where they successfully entertained audiences and enjoyed touring the countryside. Currently, she directs a daytime chorus in Federal Way, WA, the Spirit of Sound Singers.

 

Heading up the administrative end of Ovation! as Team Leader is Katy Hawley. Katy has four gold medals to her name beginning with Simpatico in 1997, continuing with SoundDesign in 2002 and 2004 and ending with Transit in 2005. Katy is currently singing with Pacific Sound Chorus and LiveWire Quartet.
