SET is a Region 13 educational event held every-other summer; our 2019 SET is scheduled for Thursday, August 15 - Sunday, August 18, 2019 at Seattle Pacific University, 3307 3rd Avenue West, in Seattle, WA. Classes and housing will be on campus.
The Region always brings in top-notch faculty for SET who share their vast knowledge with the region, and for 2019, we will have none other than Erin Howden, director of the 2018 International Championship Chorus, North Metro. Erin is also well-known throughout the barbershop world for her visual and choreography skills.
SET 2019 will follow this format:
• Thursday: PVIs and quartet coaching in the afternoon; Pajama Party in the evening!
• Friday: classes by regional faculty and PVIs
• Saturday: classes by Guest Faculty Erin Howden
• Saturday evening: Novice Extravaganza, followed by the Champs Show and a social “Glimmer” after the show
• Sunday morning: Leadership specialty workshop! The specialty topic for 2019 is Leadership, targeted to chapter leaders...current or future!

At our Regional Convention in April, we announced the winners of our First Ever Region 13 Arrangers WorkShop at HCNW Tag Writing Contest! This event, so-sponsored by North by Northwest Region 13 & Harmony College Northwest, was designed to encourage Barbershoppers in Region 13 or the Evergreen District, plus HCNW attendees, to get involved with composing and arranging tags for men’s, women’s, and mixed voices, and to freely sharing their tags with fellow barbershoppers.
The Contest was first announced in June 2018; entry deadline was January 31st, 2019. A total of 20 tags were entered into 4 categories by 10 tag writers. Cash prizes for the winning tags were provided by Region 13, and a grant from the Bud Leabo Memorial Fund provided for 5 Registration Fee Scholarships to the 2019 Arrangers WorkShop.
And now you can sing the winning tags yourself (well, you're going to need three other people, but you know what we mean!). Download the winning tags by clicking here for a PDF!
